    Objective 1. Least Restrictive Environment

The vision of the SBJC is centered on making certain that our students are given the skills necessary for living successful post-scholastic lives, and the first step in measuring that this is occurring is by developing a system that ensures that they are learning in their least restrictive environment (LRE). This objective will be achieved through the implementation of our Student LRE Status Tool, a tool that will provide our district with a system-wide framework that facilitates collaborative decision-making for optimal placement based on individual student needs.

    Objective 2. Professional Development

The professional growth of our faculty and staff is crucial for student success. The actions of this objective will provide us with a model that uses data from evaluations, student performance, surveys, and other assessments to curate professional development offerings that address needs and contribute to measurable progress. We will also revamp the onboarding and training program for new hires, ensuring all staff enter the classroom equipped and confident.

    Objective 3. Communication

Effective communication is key to building trust and fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. By establishing a system for regular data analysis of our communication channels, the SBJC will use these insights to identify areas for improvement in our communication strategies. Additionally, we will empower our SBJC families, a valuable resource in our learning community, by developing targeted training programs and increasing opportunities for engagement through shared resources and support services.

    Objective 4. Functional Living Skills

To maximize students’ success after graduation, this objective focuses on expanding access to high-quality programming in four key areas: Independent Living Skills; Social-Emotional Skills; Functional Communication Skills; and Community-Based Living Skills. By integrating these skills into our curriculum, collaborating with families and community partners, and utilizing data-driven decision-making, we aim to facilitate effective skill generalization across various contexts, empowering students to confidently navigate their post-scholastic lives.
