South Bergen Jointure Commission
Curriculum & Assessment
The South Bergen Jointure works to provide a balance of academic instruction that addresses the specific goals and objectives outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS), as appropriate.
SBJC has developed and implements academic curricula that are fully aligned to the NJSLS, which provide clear and consistent learning goals for grades K-12 across the following nine content areas:
Career Readiness, Life Literacies & Key Skills · Comprehensive Health & Physical Education · Computer Science & Design Thinking · English Language Arts · Mathematics · Science · Social Studies · Visual & Performing Arts · World Languages
The SBJC preschool curriculum is aligned to the state's Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
Additionally, SBJC implements a district-developed ABA curriculum that is aligned with the objectives of the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R).
