• WELCOME TO THE SBJC
It is the mission of the SBJC to provide a supportive and challenging environment in order for our students to work towards unlocking their full potential.

We provide special education services for children in Autism, BD, and MD programs, ages three through twenty-one. Child Study Team members of both member and non-member districts with an interest in sending a student to the SBJC will first complete our Intake Request Form and submit it to admissions@njsbjc.org. Our Leadership Team will review the Intake Request Form and contact the case manager of the child study team members to request additional materials and records (e.g., current Individualized Education Program, progress reports, and evaluations). The Leadership Team will review all materials to determine if there is a placement within the South Bergen Jointure Commission that would benefit the student socially, emotionally, and academically. If the SBJC Leadership Team determines that there is an appropriate placement within our district, the prospective student, his/her parent(s)/guardian(s), and the case manager will be contacted to schedule an intake visit. Following this visit, a placement decision will be determined by the SBJC administrator, who will notify the child’s CST case manager.

  • ADMISSION PROCEDURES
Below are the step-by-step instructions for our admission process.

    1. Child study team members will complete the CST Intake Request Form. You will receive a message from us requesting additional materials and records (e.g., current Individualized Education Program, progress reports, evaluations, etc.).

    2. SBJC’s Admissions Department will review the CST Intake Request Form and forward the information to the appropriate principal.

    3. The SBJC Leadership Team will review all materials to determine if there is a placement within the South Bergen Jointure Commission that could benefit the student socially, emotionally, and academically.

    4. If the SBJC Leadership Team determines that there is an appropriate placement within our district, the prospective student, his/her parent(s)/guardian(s), and the case manager will be contacted to schedule an intake visit.

    5. Following this intake visit, and if it is agreed upon by both parties that the SBJC is the best fit for this child, a placement decision will be determined by the SBJC administrator. This team member will then notify the child’s case manager of the decision within 48 hours from the intake visit.

    6. The case manager and the SBJC team member will determine a start date for the student.
