Congratulations to Mrs. Siobhan Smith for being a recipient of the SBJC Teacher of the Year Award for the 2017-18 school year! Mrs. Siobhan Smith teaches middle school science at our Lodi campus. Siobhan has been a teacher for five years, all of which have been at the SBJC. Along with teaching, she provides home programming services for students with Autism that attend our school. Over the past two years Siobhan has been an advisor to the SBJC robotics team. The team has competed in numerous competitions and received first place in a competition this year. Siobhan has had the pleasure of watching her students grow and succeed both in and outside the classroom and looks forward to continuing her hard work for years to come.
In combining the SBJC STAR (Students Transitioning to Adult Responsibilities) program with the SBJC STEAM program, students preparing for post-secondary life will get the opportunity to learn job skills while providing services for their peers throughout Southern Bergen county. With this program, we are looking to: (a) enhance our students abilities to participate in work that mimics twenty-first century jobs; and (b) enhance the STEAM program’s ability to make itself accessible to the technological needs of schools that are members of the South Bergen Jointure Commission. You can read more about our program on our WorkShop website.
