Occupational Therapy students at SBJC Maywood have once again done a wonderful job making seasonal decorations for the Occupational / Physical Therapy room door. While having fun making these cute snowmen, students were working to improve their skills in the areas of Cognitive and Visual Perceptual (e.g. following step by step directions, copying shapes, etc.), as well as Fine Motor (e.g. scissor skills, crayon grasp, manipulation of materials such as glue bottles, etc.).

"On December 21, volunteers from KPMG visited our school as a community service event, Family for Literacy Program. Volunteers visited each classroom and read to the students. They distributed snacks and books which were sent home with each student. Following classroom readings, the KPMG volunteers led a holiday sing along with the entire school. We even had a special guest surprise us during the visit. The event was truly amazing and heartwarming to see the joy on so many faces."

"On November 17, 2023, six classes from the SBJC Maywood Campus went on a field trip to the Liberty Science Center. The students enjoyed exploring the various exhibits and did very well."

"On October 11, 2023, SBJC Maywood had a great visit from members of the Maywood Fire Department. Several members from the department came to our school for fire safety activities. SBJC Maywood staff and students appreciate the Maywood Fire Department for their hard work and thank them for this great day."

"The 2023-2024 school year has been off to a great start. The students and staff have done a nice job transitioning to the new school year. I am thrilled to be working with the staff, students and families at the South Bergen Jointure Commission Maywood Campus. I look forward to an amazing school year!"
