Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) Program

Our ERI Program integrates academic, social, emotional, and behavioral interventions into the classroom and school environment to support students with self-regulation needs.

Challenging behaviors in school often stem from underlying emotional difficulties. Our Emotional Regulation Impairment program offers a holistic approach to support the whole child, addressing both emotional and behavioral needs. Beyond academics, our specialized team, including special education teachers, behaviorists, counselors, and therapists, provides social-emotional support and instruction to enhance students' emotional regulation and coping skills. The goals of our ERI Program are to:

Increased Academic and Executive Functioning Skills: To develop the students' academic and executive functioning skills to ensure their future success in the general education classroom.

Return to Home School District: To equip students with the necessary behavioral controls and coping mechanisms to successfully return to their home school district.

Program Features

What does an ERI classroom look like for our learners?

Individualized Instruction
Our program is tailored to each student's unique needs, providing targeted behavioral support and interventions.
Whole-Child Focus
We prioritize the well-being of the entire child, including their emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Our program is grounded in PBIS principles, creating a positive and supportive learning environment utilizing a multi-tiered approach to intervention, from implementation of classroom management techniques (Tier 1) to the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (Tier 3).
Reinforcement-Rich Environment
We foster a reinforcement-rich environment where positive behaviors are rewarded and negative behaviors are minimized.
Teaching and Reinforcing Replacement Behaviors
We focus on teaching appropriate behaviors to help students manage their emotions effectively.
