The SBJC Difference
The SBJC is more than a special education school district; we are a community bound by the common goal of elevating the experiences and maximizing the potential of our students with extraordinary needs.
For thirty years, the South Bergen Jointure Commission has been a leading service provider in special education services for children of northern New Jersey. Now, we’re working to elevate the standard for all of special education.
From yoga and mindfulness to athletics and the No Barriers mindset, the SBJC No Barriers Initiative empowers students, proving that "What's within you is stronger than what's in your way."
With a focus on reinforcing positive behaviors, the SBJC's use of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports is a multi-tiered system designed to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
By empowering all staff with focused ABA training and with our BCBAs leading professional development, our collaborative Team Model Approach aims to enhance classroom management and student achievement by targeting behavioral and academic success.
The SBJC's LRE Status Tool aims to clarify student placements within our system, ensuring that all children learn in the most appropriate and least restrictive environment possible.
