Paula Hill, SBJC Maywood Social Worker/Behaviorist Presents at NJEA Annual Conference

Mrs. Paula Hill shared her expertise with a group of educators at the NJEA Annual Conference in Atlantic City. Her presentation was titled, The School Avoidant Child: Behavior Intervention and Teamwork is Key. This interactive session educated participants on successful interventions to support students who are refusing to attend school for a variety of reasons. Components of the workshop included training on the core principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, developing an understanding of Anxiety-based disorders, Identifying the function of the behaviors and development of positive interventions.
