ABOUT WBL

  • Through our Work-Based Learning Partnerships with several local businesses and community agencies, students 16 years of age or older (junior year of high school) are provided with the opportunity to participate in school-sponsored non-paid external learning experiences. Placements vary depending on the abilities and interest of the students. The amount of time and days spent at each of the sites increases by grade level. We offer a variety of structure learning experiences to expose students to different jobs and businesses. Each student’s School to Work program is developed in accordance with the student’s Individual Education Program Transition Plan. Students receive credit for time spent at the worksite. Students are supervised by an SBJC employee and a workplace mentor.

Some of the current Work-Based Learning Sites include:

    • Homewood Suites
    • JJK Distributors
    • New Balance
    • Walgreens
    • Lodi Lanes
    • Napoli Pizza
